Junkanoo starts at 12am and typically lasts until late morning. If going with young kids, it may be easier to view the parade during the second lap (i.e. 7am-9am).

Tickets for seating along the parade route become available in early December. These are sold online and prime seats often sell out quickly.

Parking may be challenging. It might be easier to arrange reliable transportation to and from the parade, in advance.

While street food is available, most commercial businesses are closed, or quite a walk away, so pack necessities like water and snacks.

The parade is largely attended by locals and can be very crowded. Be prepared!

For the safety of participants and spectators heavy police presence is to be expected. There are also 3 police stations within walking distance and close proximity to the parade.

Pack light, be vigilant, move safely and leave all expensive and valuable items at home.
